Engineering Technology Executive

Alan Malby has 30 years’ experience in the automotive industry working for vehicle manufacturers.


Alan has been responsible for product release to millions of automotive platforms and has a broad range of skills and experience. He has over 12 years’ experience in commercial electric vehicles obtained from over 20 million electric fleet miles.

Studying Engineering with The Royal Navy and at Master's Level whilst at Ford Motor Company, Alan has held leadership roles from the outset of his career. 

As Lead Engineer with Ford Motor Company, Alan was responsible for powertrain diagnostic software release to volume programmes in Europe and China. 

Gobal Powertrain Engineering responsibility at Smith Electric Vehicles Corporation, included Alan representing the business with key international account customers, specifiying and co-delivering a world first, electric vehicle telematic system. 

As Chief Engineer with Tevva Motors Ltd, Alan grew team talent, led the Department to achieve ISO 9001 accreditation and enhanced the systems product portfolio add value, reduce costs by reducing reliance upon 3rd party products. 

Alan's strategy means that core and critical to safety function systems are now on target to achieve compliance with ISO 26262, another World First in Commercial EV Trucks.

As Managing Director of Concept2Customer Ltd, Alan and an expansive network of contacts and associates provide sector agnostic and second-to-none consultancy services to globally dispersed Clients. 

His client base ranges from UK Government, OEMs, SMEs, Institutional Investors and Individuals. His focus is in providing the very best advice, responding to his clients’ specific project needs.
